About the client
UNIT.City is the first innovative park in Ukraine and a prototype of the city of the future. It positions itself as a development space with its unique ecosystem that helps talents, inventors, and entrepreneurs meet each other and create cool new ideas and products.
Task
The 'Mate' agency presented us with a unique opportunity-to craft three 6-second animated videos that would not only showcase the vibrancy and scale of UNIT.City but also stand out as a testament to our creative prowess.
Decision
Our unique approach was to start from the end. We strategically planned the video's conclusion to effectively convey the scale of the space and seamlessly integrate with the other two videos.
To do this, we created a packshot at the end of the video containing the entire UNIT.City with the maximum number of chips and a community of creative people. Before the peckshot, each video is logically led from a specific location and space event. All these events happen simultaneously, and they are all about the vibe and scale of UNIT.City
Production
Our journey was a collaborative one. We embarked on two parallel paths—animating the diverse characters that populate the packshot and crafting the storyboards and illustrations that serve as the starting point for each video. Each step was a testament to our collective creativity and dedication.
During the production process, we made a decision to extend the duration of each video to 10 seconds. This was to ensure that viewers could fully immerse themselves in each story, enhancing their viewing experience.
In total, we animated 74 characters for the packshot, more than 50 of which are unique! Among these characters are many Easter girls: our colleagues, their dogs, and friends. Many of them can immediately recognize themselves, a testament to our team's creativity and dedication.

Comment by Animation Lead:
These were the most detailed illustrations and animations we've ever done! The whole neighborhood comes to life before us, and our eyes run wild because we want to see everything. It was very interesting to come up with all these characters who go about their business and live in the little world we created for them.
